I Love Pinterest

It has been a few months since our last trip and normally by now we'd be well into planning another. We have several possibilities picked out; a couple of weeks driving through Andalusia  or perhaps a trip to Asia. Hong Kong and some time on the beach in Malaysia sounds nice doesn't it? The reason we not pursuing either is that we're planning to catch up on some delayed maintenance on the house. I know very boring, more expensive  and not nearly as much fun as seeing Sevilla!

So I'm up to my eyeballs in plans to rebuild the porch and repaint the living room, while choosing between colors, fabrics and bathroom tile. It's overwhelming and this is where Pinterest comes in. It's a great site that allows you to "pin" images (like the one to the left) onto virtual boards. You can create pin boards on any topic and organize your links in a visual display which makes them both coherent and more useful. It's easy to navigate and use and invaluable for creating an idea book for any design projects. You can see some of the ways I've used it here. I've divided up the projects by room, with possible paint colors, fabrics and furniture pinned so that you can see various options side by side.

FabulousYou could certainly use this for travel plans, for example a board of restaurants in Rome or possible day trips from Bangkok. I haven't used it this way yet but I'm looking forward to it. You could also pin pictures from your blog or blogs you follow. What is great is that you can click through to the original website from the pinboard which makes it a  functional as a bookmark folder.

Modern and fab, imagine with a light groutSo while I'm day dreaming of Africa, Asia and Europe I should be choosing which of these tiles to use in my bathroom  or deciding which fabric would make the best bedroom curtains! Pinterest is a great tool and seeing everything together and it  has helped me narrow down my alternatives. So thanks to Belletje over at Perspective Pie, I found Pinterest through a link on her blog.

So now you're here, I hate to be too bourgeoise but which of these would make a better bedroom curtain?!!

Isn't it great! But I realize how addicting it can be and before I know it, I've wasted an hour away!
That's why I haven't joined Facebook and I don't "do" ebay!
